At Jackson Landscapes & Fencing, we supply and install heavy-duty garden fencing, custom gates, and wind-resistant timber fencing built to withstand Manx weather.
Whether you need complete new fence installation, panel replacement, post replacement, or fast storm damage fence repair, we serve homeowners and businesses across Douglas, Ramsey, Peel, Castletown, Onchan, and island-wide.
All of the fencing we install is designed to be wind and damp resistant to hold up to our spectacular Manx weather, giving you peace of mind when the hoolies hit.
Coastal winds and winter gales can quickly take down standard flat fence panels. We specialize in installing Hit & Miss and Lollipop timber fencing designed to let air flow through naturally - without sacrificing your garden's privacy or security.
Hit & Miss fencing is one of the most popular and durable fencing styles on the island. Alternate boards are fixed to the front and back of the supporting rails, creating a double-layered barrier.
Why it works in coastal winds: Rather than acting like a solid wall that catches high gale forces, Hit & Miss fencing allows wind to pass through small gaps between the staggered boards, drastically reducing pressure on the posts.
Full Privacy: Because the boards overlap on alternating sides, direct views into your garden are blocked, giving you complete privacy.
Double-Sided Finish: Looks identical from both sides—ideal for shared boundary lines with neighbors.
Lollipop fencing (or round-top palisade) is easily one of the best-looking fences you can put in your garden. With its smooth, rounded tops and neat vertical boards, it gives front gardens, wall tops, and side borders a smart, clean finish that brightens up the whole property.
Looks Fantastic: Gives you a neat, welcoming boundary line that frames your garden without blocking out light or feeling like you're boxed in. It looks great from the street and just as good looking out from your window.
Stands Up to the Wind: Because of the small gaps between each board, heavy coastal winds and winter gales blow straight through instead of battering against a flat wall. It takes the pressure right off the posts so the fence stays solid and upright when bad weather hits.
Built to Any Height You Need: We build these to fit your exact setup—whether you want a short decorative fence along a front garden wall, a mid-height border, or a taller fence to keep dogs and kids safely inside.
Safe for Kids & Pets: The smooth, rounded tops, and softened edges take away any sharp corners or points, making it a safe choice for busy family gardens.
Fence Post Replacement & Repairs: Replacing rotten or wind-damaged posts with deep-set pressure-treated timber posts, wrapped at the base in damp proof plastic. Keep the fence strong before it comes down.
Custom Timber Gates: Matching side entrance and driveway gates crafted to fit your garden setup. Whatever your current fencing, or the size of your gate space, we can build you a bespoke matching gate, made to fit, and seamlessly blending into your property.
Pet proofing: We know first hand that pets can be talented escape artists. If you need your garden thoroughly pet proofing, we can patch holes, replace risky, broken or rotten panels or boards, and ensure every possible gap is sealed, keeping your pets safe, for your peace of mind.
Animal enclosures: Need more than just a patch job? A full pet proof perimeter will stop even the most persistant houdini from making their great escape.
Many people think fence posts rot underground. Whilst this can be the case, more often the rot happens right at the point where the post leaves the ground, where the damp can sit around the base, and the air can access the posts and allow the rot to set in
That's why we wrap all our posts in damp proof plastic at ground level. This stops the moisture from sitting against the wood at ground level. This fix alone can significantly decrease the risk of rotting, and greatly extend the life of your fence. Build it right, build it once.
